Arrow Frog

Poison Arrow frogs are colorful and exotic frogs from various regions in South America. Generally, they exhibit bright colors to let potential prey know that they are poisonous. They inhabit the humid areas in both the trees and the forest floor. In the wild they vary from extremely poisonous to generally toxic. It is theorized that their poison is the result of their assimilation of the poison taken from the ants that they ingest in their environment. The benefit of this is that in captivity they are not poisonous! In captivity they still believe that they are poisonous so they are, generally, not shy. In the right environment they make great pets.
